On February 12, 2000, the State University of New York at Stony Brook became an Alpha Phi Gamma Interest Group.

The nine ladies who make up this Charter Class are Lichele Abear, Angela Chan, Yee-Quen Huie, Amy Lai, Yu-Ching Li, Joanna Ng, Kathy Ngo, Jane Rosiri and Yu-Yuan Wu. On June 20, 2000, the State University of New York at Stony Brook was granted Colony Status.

These young ladies wanted to make a difference in their community, and in order to do so, they participated in various community services. The ladies also established a strong sisterhood bond to implement Asian American Awareness.
